He utilizes advanced disc technologies and highly precise surgical methods, to help his patients treat spine conditions.

His practice philosophy centers on identifying the true source of pain and resolving it with the least invasive, most forward-thinking intervention available. Patients are drawn to Dr. Vokshoor for his ability to offer solutions that prioritize faster recovery, reduced postoperative pain, and lasting functional outcomes.

Dr. Vokshoor currently serves as Chief of Surgery at Providence Saint John’s Health Center, reflecting the trust placed in him by one of the region’s leading medical institutions. His surgical expertise and patient outcomes have earned him consistent national recognition, including being named one of Los Angeles’ Top Doctors every year since 2016 and one of America’s Best Spine Surgeons in 2024 by Newsweek, based on independent physician surveys.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Vokshoor is deeply committed to innovation and whole-person care. He founded the Neurosurgical Spine Group, the Institute of Neuro Innovation Research, and NeuroVella Brain Spa, each designed to advance evidence-based treatments that support neurological health, healing, and long-term wellness. His work integrates cutting-edge science with a comprehensive view of patient care—aimed at minimizing surgical impact while maximizing recovery and vitality.

“Helping patients heal while preserving how they move and live is the most meaningful work I can do.”

Dr. Vokshoor earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his neurosurgery residency at The Ohio State University and pursued advanced fellowship training in complex spine surgery at the University of South Florida.

Earlier in his career, he served as Chief of Neurosurgery at Kaiser Medical Center, further establishing his leadership in the field. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the California Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Patients seek Dr. Vokshoor for his clarity, precision, and commitment to providing modern spine care that preserves motion, restores function, and supports a full return to life.

Dr. Vokshoor’s Philosophy

Exceptional spine care demands more than technical skill alone—it requires precision, discernment, and a deep understanding of how spinal health impacts every aspect of a person’s life: movement, energy, independence, and overall well-being. Dr. Amir Vokshoor’s philosophy is rooted in delivering advanced spine surgery with the least disruption possible, while supporting optimal healing and long-term function.

Discussions around spine pain and surgery often go beyond anatomy. They touch on quality of life, expectations, recovery, and the complex ways the nervous system experiences discomfort. Dr. Vokshoor approaches spine care with a comprehensive lens—integrating biomechanics, neuroscience, and the body’s natural healing capacity. Central to his work is the understanding that spinal disorders can disrupt neurological balance and energy, and that restoring motion and stability can dramatically improve outcomes.

Patients seeking spine care often face complex decisions. Dr. Vokshoor prioritizes clarity, helping each patient understand not only what is causing their pain, but why it exists and how it can be most effectively treated. This includes evaluating pain type, nerve involvement, functional limitations, and even how mindset and recovery strategies influence the healing process.

As the founder of the Institute of Neuro Innovations, Dr. Vokshoor leads cutting-edge research into pain perception, motion preservation, recovery optimization, and integrative approaches to spine and neurological health. Through this work, he advances new insights that directly inform his patient care—ensuring that every treatment plan reflects the most innovative, evidence-based strategies available.

At the heart of Dr. Vokshoor’s philosophy is partnership. Each patient is an active participant in their care, with shared decision-making guiding every step. From routine disc procedures to complex degenerative spine disorders, the goal is always the same: relieve pain, restore function, preserve natural motion whenever possible, and support a full return to an active, fulfilling life
